Since the very first time I held a pencil, I have been expressing myself artistically. Having many drawings published on the 'Kidstuff' page of the Evening post. My Miramar North school teacher made my mother promise to take my art through to at least Tertiary level.
On completion of Bursary level Art I did a certificate in Drawing & Perspective from the Winchester School of Art. From there I channelled my creativity into theatre set design & painting, also becoming a founding member of the Foxton Murals Committee. Being an active member of Foxton Camera Club led me to Winning Champion Image of the year. In 2002 I was a finalist in the Telecom Art awards.
By 2003 I'd gained a diploma in art & creativity from The Learning Connexion. Upon graduation I found gallery representation and have taken part in many exhibitions around New Zealand. Participating in the first New Zealand Art show and every show since. I joined the Academy of Fine Arts in 2005, and enjoy exhibiting here with other members, celebrating my first Solo with the academy in 2011. My paintings are now in collections in Australia, England, USA & Italy as well as in New Zealand. Through social media I meet the director of United States Jewellery Company ‘Bajido’ this led to a contract in which four of my paintings are being used as inspiration for designs on their Bangles. The highlight of 2010 was traveling & exhibiting in Italy, ‘Legato’ was an exhibition promoting peace through remembrance.
